Khao Sok Riverside Cottages

Khao Sok Riverside Cottages is a family-owned resort in Khao Sok, Thailand.

The accommodations include spacious free-standing wooden rooms set in the forest and by the river.  The resort also offers an array of memorable tours that satisfy any adventure palette.

Inspired by the principles of right livelihood, Tu, Bodhi, and Boon run the family-owned resort.  With over 25 years of combined experience in the area, including tsunami relief and community development, Tu and Bodhi are deeply connected to Khao Sok.  They also raise Boon.

The resort practices environmental sustainability by not equipping accommodations with modern day amenities, such as TV or air-conditioning.  The achieved result is a balance between comfort for the guests and living in harmony with nature.

They also pride themselves in social responsibility by employing locals and making their well-being top priority.  Employees build life skills with regular English lessons and hospitality training. The resort also supports schools for disadvantaged children in rural areas of southern Thailand.

The resort employs very knowledgeable staff.  Jeff is very enthusiastic about flora, fauna, Thai culture, and nearby attractions of the area.  He will gladly relay his wealth information to anyone interested, in English, Dutch, German and Thai.

Wanlop keeps things operating smoothly at the Khao Sok resort.  He makes it all happen and makes everything possible. From shuttling guests into town to keeping the restaurant running smoothly, Wanlop’s good hearted and kind spirit makes him indispensable.

The resort is never short on adventures for its’ guests.  A Khao Sok Lake trip that lasts for close to ten hours, includes lunch and offers guests the opportunity to swim in the emerald green waters, kayak, hike, and soak in the breathtaking scenery of towering limestone cliffs among over 100 islands jutting skywards. Other tours offer wildlife exploration, fishing trips, river tubing, bird watching, and the infamous elephant bathing experiences.

As James Allen states, “The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good.  Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.”
